French exam prep for Canadian permanent residence
TCF Canada & TEF Canada
Our bilingual speech-language pathologists help you practice French speaking, listening, and pronunciation for the test ahead. Sessions are shaped around your current skills and the exam you plan to take.
Our coaching is led by speech-language pathologists registered with CHCPBC and holding professional memberships with ASHA.
Choose the Canada version of your French test
For Express Entry, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) accepts TCF Canada and TEF Canada as French language tests. The general TCF or another TEF version is not interchangeable with the Canada version for this purpose.
Both exams assess speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The score you need depends on your immigration program. Check the current requirements with IRCC before you register; we can help you work on the spoken communication skills the exam asks you to use.
Know the French, but find it hard to speak under pressure?
You may understand a conversation and still need more time to find words, organize an answer, or pronounce it clearly. Timed speaking tasks can make those difficulties more noticeable.
We listen to what is happening in your speech and tailor practice to your goals. If listening is also difficult, we can work on following spoken French and responding accurately.
Communication coaching for your exam goal
Our focus is spoken and heard French. We complement your own reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary study with targeted communication practice.
-
Start with your strengths and needs
We look at how you currently understand and express ideas in French, then choose useful practice targets.
-
Practice the exam format
We use prompts and timed speaking practice that reflect the test you are preparing for, with feedback you can apply on your next attempt.
-
Work on clarity
Pronunciation, pacing, word finding, and answer organization can all affect how clearly you communicate.
-
Use French beyond test day
The same skills can help you participate in conversations, meetings, and daily life in French.
What we can work on
Your plan depends on the exam, your current level, and the areas you want to strengthen.
-
Speaking responses
Organize an answer, give relevant detail, and respond naturally to follow-up questions.
-
Pronunciation and pacing
Practice the sounds and rhythm that make your French easier to understand.
-
Listening and processing
Follow spoken French, identify key information, and respond to what you heard.
-
Timed practice
Rehearse speaking tasks under a time limit and use feedback to refine your approach.
Why clients trust our coaching
Every program is led by a registered speech-language pathologist. For us, clear spoken communication isn't a side service — it's our entire clinical field. That's the difference between coaching and a generic test-prep course.
