Need help with your IELTS Speaking band?
IELTS coaching from speech-language pathologists.
If Speaking is the section holding your overall band back, we can help. We work on the fluency and pronunciation skills the IELTS Speaking test assesses. Online across BC, in person in Vancouver.
Our coaching is led by speech-language pathologists registered with CHCPBC and holding professional memberships with ASHA.
When one band matters
Whether your IELTS is for permanent residence, professional registration, university, or work, there is usually a minimum band to meet, and a retake costs time and money.
Half a band in Speaking can affect whether you meet a requirement. Preparing with someone who focuses on spoken communication can help you use your practice time well.
Is Speaking the band that won’t move?
Many candidates find Speaking the hardest section to improve on their own. Two of the four IELTS Speaking criteria are Fluency & Coherence and Pronunciation.
Those two criteria are speech skills, not grammar. It can be hard to hear your own speech patterns; a speech-language pathologist is trained to listen for them.
The IELTS Speaking criteria overlap with our field
Two of the four IELTS Speaking criteria, Fluency & Coherence and Pronunciation, are central to speech-language pathology. Our coaching is led by registered clinicians.
-
We listen closely
An assessment identifies the pronunciation and fluency patterns that affect how clearly you come across.
-
Direct work on fluency and pronunciation
Two of the four speaking criteria are our clinical specialty, and they can be hard to work on alone.
-
Academic or General Training
Whatever your IELTS is for, including PR, registration, study, or work, we focus on the speaking skills the test assesses.
-
Tracked progress
We measure your speech over time so you can see how your skills are developing before test day.
What we focus on for IELTS
We focus on Speaking and the listening skills that support it.
-
Fluency & coherence
Speaking at a natural pace with a logical flow and fewer hesitations.
-
Pronunciation
Clear individual sounds, word stress, and intonation, a full IELTS Speaking criterion in itself.
-
Listening accuracy
Catching detail in connected speech and varied accents.
-
Exam-day confidence
Practicing examiner-style conversations so you’re used to speaking clearly under pressure.
Why clients trust our coaching
Every program is led by a registered speech-language pathologist. For us, clear spoken communication isn't a side service — it's our entire clinical field. That's the difference between coaching and a generic test-prep course.

Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee a Band 7 or 8?
No. We can’t promise a band. We can identify what is affecting your speaking, work on it directly, and track your progress before test day.
Do you prepare for Academic or General Training IELTS?
Both. The Speaking and Listening skills we focus on apply to either version, whether your IELTS is for immigration, professional registration, university, or work.
Do you cover reading and writing?
Our clinical focus is spoken communication: speaking, listening, and pronunciation. Reading and writing may need additional instruction or independent practice.
Can we work together online?
Yes. We offer IELTS preparation online across British Columbia and in person in Vancouver.
