An important step toward registration in Canada

You've already done the hard part: years of training, clinical experience, and the decision to build your career in Canada. Now an English test is part of registering with your professional college.

The OET isn’t a general English exam. It’s built around real clinical communication — taking a patient history, explaining a diagnosis, writing a referral. Retakes cost time and money, so it helps to prepare carefully.

Strong clinical English, but Speaking still feels hard?

Many internationally educated health professionals have strong written and clinical English. Speaking can still feel harder under pressure: keeping your fluency, staying clear when you’re nervous, and using natural intonation with a patient.

Many courses focus on vocabulary and exam strategies. A speech-language pathologist listens for the specific sounds and speech patterns that affect how clearly you come across.

Coached by clinicians who work in healthcare communication

We’re registered speech-language pathologists. Communication in clinical settings is our field, so our OET coaching looks different from general language tutoring.

  • We assess, then target

We assess your speech the way a clinician assesses a patient, identifying the sounds, rhythms, and fluency patterns to work on, then targeting them directly.

  • We speak your clinical language

Patient histories, handovers, explaining a procedure — we coach you through the real communication tasks the OET role-plays, not generic conversation.

  • Pronunciation is our specialty

Articulation, intonation, and clarity are central to speech-language pathology.

  • Built around your goals

We tailor sessions to your profession, your target grade, and your registration timeline.

What we focus on for the OET

We concentrate on the sub-tests where spoken communication matters most.

  • Speaking sub-test

Role-play fluency, clear pronunciation under pressure, and natural intonation.

  • Listening sub-test

Following varied accents and connected speech so you can pick out clinical details.

  • Clinical communication

Structuring patient explanations and histories so you’re clear, professional, and easily understood.

  • Confidence under pressure

Strategies to keep your speech steady and clear when the exam — or the clinic — gets stressful.

Why clients trust our coaching

Every program is led by a registered speech-language pathologist. For us, clear spoken communication isn't a side service — it's our entire clinical field. That's the difference between coaching and a generic test-prep course.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee a specific OET grade?

No. We can’t promise a grade. We can identify what is affecting your speaking, work on it directly, and track your progress before test day.

Should I take the OET, IELTS or CELPIP?

It depends on your profession and your regulator. Some Canadian health regulators accept more than one English test, and the required scores differ. Check your regulator’s current requirements first. The OET uses healthcare scenarios, while IELTS and CELPIP use general topics. We can help you prepare for any of them.

Are you actual speech-language pathologists?

Yes. Our clinicians are registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) and hold professional memberships with ASHA. Communication is our clinical specialty.

Can we work together if I’m not in Vancouver yet?

Yes. We offer OET preparation online across British Columbia and to clients preparing for their move, as well as in person in Vancouver.

Which healthcare professions do you work with?

We support nurses, physicians, pharmacists, dentists, physiotherapists, and other regulated health professionals preparing for the OET.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your starting point and target grade. After your free consultation and an initial assessment, we’ll recommend a realistic plan built around your deadline.

Exam formats, scoring, results, and score requirements can change. For current details, check the official sources: OET.
